Preble Township Board Meeting Highlights
The following topics were discussed at the regular meeting of the board of supervisors held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, beginning at 7:00PM. Official minutes of this board meeting have not yet been approved.
Township officers attending the meeting were Brad Kelly, Neil Halverson, Steve Vrieze, Chuck Olson and David Larson. Township residents David Williams and Paul Olson attended the meeting. Township road engineer Butch Obieglo attended the meeting.
Brad Kelly, township president, called the meeting to order and led the discussion.
Chuck Olson reported that the township checking account balance at Rushford State Bank was $90,558.99 as of February 28, 2015, after the payment of all February bills. Olson reported that $5,054.37 was expended by the township during February. Olson also reported that $8,800.85 in revenue was received by the township during February. Of this amount, $500 was received from the Minnesota DNR as a contribution toward the purchase of gravel for spreading onto Coyote Road.
The township board reviewed bills received by David Larson since the February meeting. The total amount of outstanding bills, excluding current wages, was $2,611.71. All outstanding bills were approved for payment.
Butch Obieglo reported that all roads have been recently graded where required.
Disaster Relief Paperwork
Brad Kelly reported that he had received a written request from the Minnesota Homeland Security and Emergency Management agency requesting that Preble Township submit final paperwork to that agency confirming the completion of road repair work last year following the year 2013 flooding. Township supervisors and clerk will meet to complete the required paperwork.
Township Equipment Rates
The township board approved the following rates that will be charged to neighboring townships using our road equipment for road maintenance and repairs: $110 per hour for the road grader and $90 per hour for the plow truck.
Township Officer Compensation
The township board approved the continuation of the same compensation for township officers that has been paid over the past three years: $100 per meeting or work activity for supervisors, $125 per month for the treasurer, and $300 per month for the clerk.
Spring Road Tour
Township supervisors will conduct a spring tour of all township roads on Saturday, March 28th, beginning at 8AM.
