Year 2014 Proposed Budget
David Williams distributed copies of the proposed year 2014 budget for review by township officers. The proposed budget anticipates approximately $261,817 in revenue received by the township, including the $142,317.74 already received from the federal and state agencies administering disaster recovery reimbursement. Preble Township would spend approximately $173,080 in funds during the year, including approximately $50,000 of road construction to complete repairs on several roads damaged by the late June 2013 flooding event. Chuck Olson stated that the township expects to receive approximately $12,000 in local government aid from the State of Minnesota, and that amount should be added to the anticipated revenue for the year. The proposed budget will be revised to incorporate comments made by township officers, and will be presented for additional discuss during the February township board meeting.
The township board approved a bounty for year 2014 in the amount of $2.00 for each pocket gopher caught within Preble Township, and presented to the township board.
